God Loves You

Before

“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.”  2 Corinthians 5:17
For a good portion of my life, God was on the back burner. My plans were more important than the plans that God had for me. I met all of the “requirements” of being a Christian but I was missing it. I was saved at a young age, went to church, and believed that God was real. Isn’t that enough? The obvious answer is “no”. It was a hard time for me because I would tell people that I believed in God but my actions spoke otherwise. It’s really hard to lead others to Christ when your own actions show that you are running away.

Change

The few people that know my past know that I, just like everyone else, had struggles and trials. There were things that I did that I am not proud of. I am that that man today. Because of Jesus Christ, I can say that I am free from that past. I am free from my sin. I have turned my life around and have given all my worries and doubts to the One that sacrificed everything so that we could live. God is at the center of my life now and I’ve never been more happy. I love my God and the love He has for me. I love my family and their unflinching love for me. I love my life because Jesus Christ died to save me from who I was.

Why…

Why am I telling you all of this? Because I want you to know that God loves you and you too can be free from the past. There’s no reason to continue wandering through life carrying baggage. Give it to God. He has a plan for your life.

For my birthday my beautiful wife bought me a shirt that says, “We can make our plans but God determines our steps.” Those words couldn’t be any more true. We feel like in a lot of situations that we are in control but the truth is we need to let go and let God.

“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps.” Proverbs 16:9

Pray

In all things, pray. There is nothing more important than the relationship we have with God. Just like Earthly relationships, our relationship with Christ takes communication, trust, faith, and love. When you have struggles, lean. When you have questions, ask. When you have doubts, pray.

If you remember one thing from reading this, remember that you have a Father in Heaven that loves you unconditionally and wants you to have a close and personal relationship with Him.

“but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

As Always,
I love you.
